Carlsbadās Historic Village Theater Set for a Comeback

After years of uncertainty and a decade of vacancy, the beloved Carlsbad Village Theater is finally on track for a revival. Built in 1927 and nestled in the heart of downtown, the iconic 338-seat venue may soon reopen for classic films and live performances, thanks to renewed efforts by building owner Adam Robinson of RPG. While restoration will take timeānew permits are required to bring the nearly century-old space up to codeāplans are underway to return the theater to its original purpose.
Community members, including the grassroots Save the Carlsbad Theater group, are hopeful the space will remain a cultural anchor for years to come. With its 100th anniversary on the horizon in 2027, this historic gem could once again become the centerpiece of Carlsbad Village, blending the charm of the past with a future full of creative potential.
