Oceanside Transit Center Is Getting a Major Makeover

Big things are happening at the Oceanside Transit Center—and this time, it’s about more than just catching a train. In a bold reimagining of what a transit hub can be, the OTC is being transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use destination that brings together housing, culture, and community. With 547 new apartments (including affordable options), a 165-room boutique hotel, retail and dining spots, and new NCTD headquarters, the future OTC will be a true neighborhood anchor.

But it’s not just about buildings. Picture lush plazas, shade-covered walkways, native landscaping, public art, and bike-friendly streets—all designed to reflect Oceanside’s unique identity and laid-back coastal vibe. From architecture inspired by local landmarks to murals and sculptures by Oceanside artists, every detail is rooted in place and purpose. Even the transit side of things is getting an upgrade, with more seamless connections between the COASTER, SPRINTER, Amtrak, and local buses.

Construction is expected to begin in 2026, but this is more than a development project—it’s a statement about what’s possible when transit, housing, and culture come together to serve the community. Whether you're a commuter, a local, or just stopping by, the new OTC will be a place to ride, relax, explore, and belong.
