🫐 A New Kind of Farm is Growing in North County—And You’re Invited to Help Build It!

Tucked into the hills of Bonsall, something special is taking root. Bonsall Berry Farm, opening this spring, isn’t just another place to pick berries—it’s a regenerative family farm designed to bring the community together through hands-on experiences with nature. Think: seasonal berry picking, food forests, pasture-raised animals, and gardens that invite kids and grown-ups alike to explore, learn, and connect.
Behind it all is The Agrarian Institute, a local nonprofit on a mission to fight food insecurity, teach sustainable living, and heal the land. Together, they’re creating more than a farm—they’re growing a legacy rooted in nourishment, education, and community.
Want to get involved? This weekend (May 3–4), you can help bring the vision to life! Join hundreds of volunteers during a massive community build weekend as part of North Coast Church’s Serve Your City event. Pick a shift (8am–12pm or 1–5pm), roll up your sleeves, and jump into fun projects like planting trees, building scarecrows, spreading mulch, and more. No experience needed—just bring your energy and love for your community.
Let’s grow something beautiful—together. To learn more about supporting or getting involved with these transformative efforts, visit The Agrarian Institute.
🚨 Oceanside PD Takes to the Skies—Literally!

Heads up, Oceanside—your next 911 responder might be flying. This week, the Oceanside City Council unanimously approved a 13-month pilot program that will launch a drone-first responder system for emergency calls. The idea? Get eyes on the scene within 60–90 seconds, dramatically cutting response times in the downtown area.
The drone will be based on top of City Hall and can zip to locations west of I-5—from the harbor down to the Carlsbad border. It’s all part of a new Real-Time Crime Center initiative that uses tech to provide officers with vital info before they even arrive. And here’s the cool part—20% of 911 calls could be resolved without even dispatching an officer, based on results in other cities.
While the program brings promising improvements to public safety, city leaders are also keeping privacy top of mind. For now, it's funded by a state grant, meaning no extra cost to taxpayers as Oceanside tests this high-tech approach to crime response.
Want the full scoop on how this program works and what’s next? Stay tuned—we’ll be watching the skies.
