United Airlines Begins Flights Out of Carlsbad

United Airlines has returned to McClellan-Palomar Airport (CLD) in Carlsbad as of March 30, 2026, marking its return to North County San Diego after an 11-year hiatus.
United will operate four daily flights (two round-trips) starting March 30, 2026:
San Francisco (SFO): Twice daily.
Denver (DEN): Twice daily.
Schedule: Initial flights are scheduled to depart at 7:30 a.m., with the last flight arriving at 9:50 p.m.
This move adds a second major carrier to the airport, joining American Airlines (which flies to Phoenix) and providing an alternative to flying out of San Diego International Airport (SAN).
Sugarfish is coming to San Diego

Sugarfish is opening its first San Diego location in Little Italy (2100 Kettner Blvd) in Spring 2026. Known for high-quality, "Nozawa-style" sushi, the 40-seat restaurant will offer its signature "Trust Me" omakase sets—typically priced under $60—with views of the harbor. This was my go-to spot when I lived in LA— simple, consistent, and delicious.
